Location
The Hakone Open-Air Museum opened in 1969 as the first open-air museum located in Japan. Continuously changing with the four seasons, the museum's amazing grounds are the permanent home of over 120 works by famous modern and new sculptors. It also has 5 exhibition halls which includes the Picasso Pavilion, plus where children can play.
Sculptures
About 100 pieces of masterwork are visible, including some examples from distinguished sculptors. For instance, Rodin, Bourdelle, Miro, Moore, etc.
Facilities
In order to provide a space for relaxation and entertainment, the Hakone Open-Air Museum composes varies of restaurants and shops in addition to the exhibition galleries. The Footbath Spa "Hot Foot" is one of the museum's popular site.
